Session: The Artist Support System

The Illusion Of A Successful Career As A One Wo_man Show

Fr., 20. September 2019, 12.15 - 13.15, Arcotel Onyx, Suite 716
Language: English

The music business has undergone an immense change in recent years: Traditional structures merge, dilute or even dissolve. The number of Artist Direct/DIY platforms is growing year by year. Streaming services offer artists the direct upload of their music. Will the artist become a Do-It-Yourself-entrepreneur in the future?

The answer is: No. Regardless if you are a self-releasing artist or signed by a record label, nobody can truly do everything on his_her own. Every successful artist has a support system including key figures like the artist manager, PR agent, label manager, tour manager, booking agent, lawyer and/or other specialists – depending on the individual setup.
